Did you know? Snow crystals form when water vapor condenses directly into ice, which happens in the clouds. Snow is white because snow crystals reflect the full spectrum of light, which we see as white. Want to learn more? Hydrologist, Mike Callahan of NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) will be our guest presenter on this winter evening. Explore the many facets of winter weather, learn about what causes it, and how to predict it! Check out NOAA’s Cyclone Model and learn how meteorologists use it to forecast winter storms. Enjoy some super cool freezing demonstrations and learn about the patterns and shapes of snow crystals. Create some snowy art to take home!
Join us at the Living Arts & Science Center to experience art and science. On the first Thursday of every month we invite a local artist or scientist to come and show us a little of what they do. Hands-on art activities and frequent Planetarium shows are also featured!
Suggested Donation:
$2 each
