How to Homeschool

----------------
Step #3
Find the homeschool regulations for your state.
THE HSLDA website lists homeschool laws for each state.

In Kentucky, you need to send in a "Letter of Intent to Homeschool" to your district within two weeks of the start of the public school year.
Samples HERE.

Keep a record of attendance throughout the year.

Maintain grades for your student.
It is recommended that you also keep examples of your child's work. You must teach reading, writing, spelling, grammar, history, mathematics, and civics for a minimum of 170 instructional days. For help understanding and implementing these specific requirements, please read this blog provided by CHEK.

-------------------------------------
Official homeschool guidelines for Kentucky can be found at the Kentucky Department of Education.
If you are concerned about the legalities of homeschooling, you can find excellent help and advice through the HSLDA organization and through the CHEK website and Facebook page..
