Local Latin Club This Spring
Local Latin Club for Fayette County
Wednesdays and Fridays at the Central Branch of the public library
Free, but suggested donation of $5-$10 per class
Details as communicated to Bluegrass Education...
Salvete, omnes! I'm excited to meet with you all for Latin club in the upcoming weeks. I'm a classics student at UK, where I've been teaching Latin and have sat at the feet of the masters, Drs. Terence Tunberg and Milena Minkova. (On this page you'll see short introduction of them, along with some fun readings of presidential quotes in Latin.) This video will give you a glimpse of the spirit of Latin studies at UK.
So let's get together and speak some Latin! I assure you it'll be a fun time for your students, and they may be surprised at how much they can do already, even without any prior experience in spoken Latin. We'll meet in Room C at the Central Branch of the Lexington Public Library on Wednesdays 9:00 – 9:50 a.m. and Fridays 4:30 – 5:20 p.m. Parents and teachers, feel free to stick around during the meeting (space permitting), and please RSVP, letting me know (1) the names of your students who are coming, (2) how many years of Latin instruction each has received, and (3) what textbook each has been using most recently. I hope to see you Wednesday morning!
