3. Homeschool Track--"A Living Education for Children: The Charlotte Mason Method of Education"
Charlotte Mason (1842–1923) was a Classical British Educator who believed that all children, regardless of their background, deserve the feast of a living education. Over the course of her career, she developed a Philosophy of Education that parents and educators alike are rediscovering today. In this workshop, we will explore the timeless philosophy of Miss Mason's Method and how children in the 21st century can benefit from the cultivation of a living education.
Speaker: Shanon Pruden
Shanon Pruden has been homeschooling her two sons since 2011. Charlotte Mason's Philosophy of Education calls her heart and she seeks to share the beauty and wisdom of the method with other parents and educators however she can! She is currently pursuing a dual major in History and English through Liberty University Online. After she is finished educating her children at home, she hopes to continue teaching using the Charlotte Mason Method.

Speaker: Aaron Hogue, Kentucky FCA Director
2. General Topics--"Classical Education: Training the Mind & Tuning the Heart"
Wisdom and virtue - these are two chief ends of classical education. In light of our modern progressive culture where entitlement and relativism abound, such goals can seem entirely lost to antiquity. Join me as we explore 5 habits that work together to cultivate the heart and mind for a life rooted in truth, goodness, and beauty. Consider how to intentionally create an educational framework upon the platform of humility. Habits are powerful; we must be purposed to shape them with great care.
Speaker: Melissa Speaks, Veritas Christian Academy
Melissa Speaks graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She is a former public school teacher who is now honored to have become a part of the classical renewal. She has been teaching at Veritas Christian Academy (a classical school in Lexington, Ky) for the past two years. She has witnessed a tremendous difference that this approach has already made not only in her students, but also in herself. Melissa is working toward a more complete adoption of the following principle: multum non multa (much not many).
