Fayette County News and Announcements

Carter G. Woodson Academy
By popular demand, the Carter G. Woodson Academy received word to expand the opportunity for excellence to incoming sixth through twelfth grade students. The Carter G. Woodson Academy's mission is to educate, motivate, and activate the potential for excellence that lies within every male. The Academy has extended graciously its deadline to January 24, 2015, seeking young men ready to become outstanding leaders.

The Carter G. Woodson Academy will provide an advanced and rigorous curriculum that meets the new common core standards through the lens of African-American history, culture, and culturally responsive teaching and learning strategies. The traditional college preparatory program will serve at-promise males in grades six through twelve who have unlimited potential.

If you are interested in an educational opportunity where the vision for success includes: well-mannered, well-behaved, well-dressed, well-spoken, well-read, well-traveled, and well-prepared young men, please contact the Carter G. Woodson Academy at 859-381-3933 or send an email to: [email protected]. Visit the Academy's website at http://www.cgwacademy.fcps.net/ to learn more about the program and download the application.
(NOTE: If you have already completed and submitted the Carter G. Woodson Academy application, you do not need to reapply. We have your application on file to include in the selection process.)

We look forward to selecting outstanding leaders for tomorrow!
